Forgetful Fred

Posted at 1:52 PM by Adam Searing

OK, it’s only the number one domestic issue both nationally and in North Carolina.  1.3 million North Carolinians don’t have it.  Premium costs are skyrocketing.  Gubernatorial hopeful Fred Smith’s number one healthcare solution?  “Take Medicaid off the backs of the counties.”

Actually, we did this already in North Carolina.  The North Carolina General Assembly – including Senator Smith – passed a plan to relieve counties from paying Medicaid costs last session.  I gave the Fred Smith campaign a hard time about this on the blog back in September, but I guess he really just doesn’t care enough to get serious about health care.

Hey, at least it’s an idea with merit. Take a look at Fred’s environmental program if you really want a taste of lunacy. You can sum it up in three words.

Build. More. Roads.

This guy is in WAY over his head.
