Kathie McClure – Mom, lawyer, health activist, bus driver

Today I had a chance to speak to Kathie McClure.  She outfitted a old school bus and, starting from Atlanta, is traveling the country collecting stories about our health care crisis.  She's in NC for a few days this week.  What prompted this?  Her two adult children have serious health conditions and have found getting insurance on their own difficult or impossible.  She started a new nonprofit – http://www.votehealthcare.org/ – and is on a one woman mission to reform our system.  Here's the NC Health Report video:

Everyone has an opinion on healthcare reform, but few actually get out there and act on the reform issues. I’d love to be on that bus with Kathie and her team. I hope she drives it all the way to the front door of the Capital and the White House. God bless her.
