The North Carolina Medical Society included an interesting poll in its latest newsletter.
The group contracted with McLaughlin & Associates to conduct a statewide survey of 600 likely general election voters to ask about health care policy issues.
On the question “What is your greatest concern about your family’s health care?” almost 40 percent of voters said “affordable insurance.”
A majority of survey respondents said that ensuring quality health care is a better use of taxpayer dollars than fixing the economic crisis on Wall Street.
A majority of respondents also said that they think health care reform will happen under the next federal administration.
This poll does not point to any particular solution for the health care crisis, but it does show that voters are thinking about the issue. I hope it also means that voters will demand action — at both the state and federal levels — once new administrations are in office.
