The weirdest quote of the day comes from Governor-elect Perdue, as she was introducing Keith Crisco, her choice for Commerce Secretary, to business leaders at the North Carolina Chamber luncheon. Perdue recognized Crisco in the crowd and then added,
We welcome you to the bureaucracy and hope you can tear it down faster than they can build it.
That must be inspiring to someone who has just been appointed to head a state agency. Wonder who Perdue thinks “they” are?
