What I think of Senator Burr can be summed up by the length of time it took to get his office online so that you could correspond w/ your state senator. MONTHS after he had been elected to office, you still could not get an e mail to him.

That pretty much still sums up how intent he is on listening to his constituents. He might as well have an IV drip coming from the RNC made more evident.

The news services take us for fools if they do not press Burr on whether he is able to entertain at least some of the good ideas that Obama has.

It is not acceptable to me to have a 'just say no' senator to represent me.

Please give us someone else. His re-election campaign, which I hope is the moment we shake him, is right around the corner.

Save us from the non-involved.

Thanks as always IBXer. Might want to check the preamble to the Constitution and then the preamble to the Declaration of Independence to get in on the joke.

Actually Adam, that is what the Constitution originally did because the framers borrowed heavily from the writtings of other philosophers of the time, one of which being John Locke.

John Locke wrote that we all have a right to life, liberty and estate. The idea here being that if we all know our lives, our liberty, and our property were protected from the whims of others, then each of us would be free to pursue our own happiness on our own terms.

Jefferson paraphrased John Locke by simply stating "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

Anyone who knows anything about American history or who has studied political philosophy knows this is the case.

Exactly -- we know that the preamble to The Constitution guarantees the right to happiness, liberty, and the pursuit of property.

Another difference you may ask...?

I'm willing to bet that NC Policy Watch happens to know the difference between The Constitution and The Declaration Of Independence.

Don't forget that NC Policy Watch is not the head of the Republican Party -- another difference between us and Limbaugh.

There are only two differences between Limbaugh and the people at NC Policy Watch.

1) Limbaugh gets paid more than you guys to express his opinion.

2) He's been known to make intelligent statements from time to time.

Burr seems to have a streak of political cowardice.

James

PS Maybe North Carolina newspaper should press the issue indeed. Don't hold your breath.
