In case you missed it, It has been an interesting week for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina.

The Washington Post reported [2]that the company was developing ads to kill a major part of President Obama’s health care plan.  That prompted all sorts of criticism, inlcluding this rundown of the hypocrisy [3] of Blue Cross posted by Media Matters on the Huffington Post.

Then came the first public report [4]that the lobbyist involved in a possible bribe of a state legislator may be a Blue Cross lobbyist.

WRAL-TV reported [5]that Blue Cross paid $40,000 of the salary of Mary Easley’s controversial job at N.C. State, putting the company in a nice positition of influence with her husband Mike Easley, who was then governor.

Quite a week indeed. And it is only Wednesday.
