Capping NCHC and virtually refusing $15 million of federal money for our SCHIP to save the state $5 million!!!!!! What??? When are legislators going to look past their immediate term and consider the long term consequences of their decisions? Will the time ever come that decision-makers will demonstrate the wisdom of Ben Franklin's adage ..."an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." The consequences of capping NCHC (on top of the recent reduction in benefits) will be devastating – both immediately and long-term for everyone ... not just for those who qualify or the providers but for all of us as citizens, tax payers, and people of good conscience. We all should pray that people with good sense get power and in the meantime, pray that people with power get good sense!!!
