Cary Mom: Budget cuts threaten affordable health coverage for kids

Cary mom Maria Durango talks with NC Justice Center’s Health Access Coalition director Adam Searing about how important health coverage is for her kids. Maria and her husband have always worked hard, but they can’t afford the $500/mo. family policy available through her husband’s work. Luckily Maria was able to afford coverage for her daughters through NC’s Health Choice/Medicaid program – affordable health coverage for working parents. Now the NC General Assembly is looking at making major cuts to both, making it harder for kids to get covered and get care:
