Elaine Mejia – NC House and Senate tax plans

Elaine Mejia of our own NC Budget and Tax Center gives an overview of the current revenue raising plans being considered in the NC House and Senate. One key point – the amount of revenue raised by either plan will only deal with about 1/3 of NC’s budget shortfall – the other 2/3 will come in the form of substantial cuts to state government programs – mainly in health and education:
