He Wouldn’t Say it About a White Guy
Politico reports that Rep. Patrick McHenry has qualified his statement about President Obama’s citizenship.
‘As I stated last night, I have not carefully reviewed the evidence as a jurist would,’ he said in a statement. ‘However, from what I have read, I have absolutely no reason to question President Obama’s citizenship. I anticipate that as a legal matter the courts will continue to come to the same conclusion.’”
That’s a relief! The Rep.’s so pleased with that succinct bit of eloquence that it appears on his website. That’s the entire statement, by the way.
What freakin’ courts doth thou refer to, Patty? The issue is not a matter for any court in the land. Thus, they won’t “continue to come to the same conclusion” because it’s a matter of historical record (literally, there’s a record called a birth certificate) that the president is a citizen and everyone knows it. Except for a substantial percentage of North Carolina Republicans. This is the rankest, vilest, most racist nonsense I’ve ever heard spoken about a United States president. It’s disgusting that a member of Congress would espouse it and then reinforce it with non-denying denials. Doesn’t he have a death squad to worry about? Why isn’t the country’s inexorable slide into European-style Socialism taking up all his energy? I sure wish something would, I could use a break from all the humiliation.
