Top of the morning

Congresswoman Sue Myrick gave the GOP’s weekly radio address Saturday and I am still trying to figure it out.
Myrick said that she might not have survived her battle with breast cancer under a “government-run” health care system, saying her diagnosis was complicated and involved many tests and several doctors, which she thinks would not have been possible in a system run by the government.
One tiny, miniscule flaw in Myrick’s logic. It was government health care that saved her life. As a member of Congress, she gets health care paid for by the taxpayer, a public option of sorts. Not to mention the likelihood, as several commenters online suggested, that many private insurance companies would not have covered all her tests and doctor visits.
Maybe next week she can talk about why it is so important to keep government out of Medicare.
