Wake county voters will elect new school board members next week. Pre-election debate in the county has centered around school assignment policies with some candidates arguing for a return to ‘neighborhood schools.’ Rob Schofield looks at the pros and cons of the debate in his Weekly Briefing “Will Wake turn back the clock?

A new report out this week from the NC Budget & Tax Center drew misleading comments from the right prompting Chris Fitzsimon’s commentary “Final budget numbers, same misleading budget rhetoric.”
