How much would health premiums cost your family?

The Kaiser Family Foundation has a great new tool [1] to calculate premium subsidies under different congressional health reform proposals.

For example, a family of four without employer-sponsored insurance that makes $60,000 per year and where the primary policyholder is 50 years old could expect to pay $3,970 annually under the terms of the Senate HELP bill — that’s Sen. Kay Hagan’s committee.

The same family would pay $4,731 annually under the House Ways and Means/Education and Labor Committees proposal, $5,331 under the House Energy and Commerce Committee proposal, and $6,363 under the Senate Finance Committee bill.
