Helping those with less

Chris Fitzsimon’s commentary “Monday Numbers” is a look at hunger and food insecurity. It provides a stark reminder for us during this celebration-of-plenty holiday that too many North Carolinians have far too little in way of basic necessities.

Dr. Stephen Jackson with the NC Justice Center has released a new report “The Employee Free Choice Act: Improving Employee Rights at Work, Improving Employee Livelihood.” Union representation has improved wages and health care benefits for many workers.
