The blog for Health Affairs, a leading policy journal, says that North Carolina will most likely be one of the top seven “winning” states from health reform legislation.
The authors say that because NC has a high number of uninsured our state will get a big coverage expansion and a lot of federal money for reform. NC will also avoid bearing the brunt of any financing mechanisms likely to emerge from Congress.
The Health Affairs authors also point out that the states set to gain the most from reform are generally represented by Republicans whereas states with the least to gain are represented by Democrats.
