This is really getting pretty ridiculous. Last year during the budget debate, state Republican (sorry, Republic) Party chair Tom Fetzer was going around the state complaining about the state’s inadequate education system even as he was calling for more tax cuts and draconian budget reductions. Then it was the failings of the inadequately-funded mental health system he didn’t like.
Now, he’s going after Governor Perdue and calling for her to dump her Department of Correction Secretary because the man failed to fill parole officer positions fast enough – the very kinds of jobs that Fetzer’s irresponsible budget and tax proposals would have undoubtedly endangered!
Gosh, the mainstream media is depleted and not paying very close attention, but at some point, you’d think that this business of just saying anything to score political points – no matter how outrageous or hypocritical – would have to catch up with the man.

But, of course, Richard Burr seems to have no problem getting away with it.
Three year olds.
Hypocrisy? Yes. Shameless? No. Democratic and Republican politicians are incapable of being shamed.
I’m sorry to see that Tom Fetzer looks so stressed out. I just shake my head and wonder how any politician who thinks like Burr or Fetzer expect the fire department to come to their homes in an emergency if there’s no adequate infrastructure for water to put out the fire because they decided to reduce taxes, create ignorance, undermine democracy, and refuse the public an education, too? Public school teachers teach the basics of hydrology, gravity, and clean water, among other healthy offerings..
That’s it. The gravity of the situation has weighed down his face and he looks as though he knows that the infrastructure is rusting, and decaying, that the planet is drying up, and the climate is changing, but he’s scared to death to admit it cause he might be expected to do something about it.
Does Burr seem to look that stressed, too? Yes, I think they can feel shame, but they’re in denial, right?
