		<description>I don&#039;t know anything about the science. I know what I see has happened to the jetty at the mouth of Little River and Bird Island. Just in the last five years, the west end of the island has lost quite a bit of beach right next to the jetty. The back end on the east side of the jetty that is (was) contiguous with the beach has fallen apart, due to storms. At this point, I am not sure the jetty is doing Bird Island any good at all. It might be helping keep the river channel open.........</description>
