“Regional Healthcare Building Boom Defies Recession” – But not skyrocketing premium increases

I’m always amazed at stories like this one [1] in the Triangle’s “lifestyle” magazine, Metro this month. Does anyone connect this story detailing all these new medical facilities – especially extravagant ones like the ECU heart center pictured – with the inexorable rise in their health premiums? Our health premiums have more than doubled [2] in the last ten years after all. Everyone would like something for nothing but, as in most other areas, that’s just not possible in health care.
