Top of the morning

There is plenty of interesting information to ponder in the latest New York Times/CBS Poll beyond the headline that President Obama fares better than the Republican Party.
The public thinks Congress is doing a terrible job and does not have a favorable view of either major political party, though the unfavorable view of Republicans is higher than that of Democrats.
Only 18 percent of people consider themselves part of the Tea Party Movement while almost a third of the country hasn’t heard anything about it.
You can read all the questions and results here. One quote from a Republican in the story about the poll ought to give pause to all the pundits predicting a huge Republican victory in November.
It comes in response to a question about who has made more of a effort to be bipartisan. Here is what a Republican from South Carolina said about his party’s efforts in Congress.
It feels like an attempt to sabotage the majority and to regain control of power rather than working on a compromise.
The party of NO indeed.
