Etheridge opponents want to cut and run

We probably shouldn’t expect sensible policy proposals from someone who describes herself as a “tea party conservative”. But Renee Ellmers , the favorite Bob Etheridge opponent among Republican officials, offers no substance other than cutting taxes and running away from answering the tough questions her policies pose.
If she opposes deficit spending, as she suggests, then how would she pay for tax cuts that are “well beyond” the $2 trillion Bush giveaway to the wealthy? Ellmers won’t say.
She does say that she wouldn’t touch Social Security or Medicare and I’m assuming Ellmers would not want to reduce defense spending. And since she will not even touch Medicare she is clearly not committed to reducing health care spending. By protecting half of the federal budget she doesn’t leave much room to pay for her $3 trillion or $4 trillion in tax cuts.
Once in office you can’t run and hide from your proposals. So it would be nice to get some real answers before the election.
