Here’s my nomination for the quote of the day, from Senator Martin Nesbitt commenting on the insane idea of turning over part of the management of the state’s mental health hospitals to the private, for-profit world.

We tried privatizing a prison, and it didn’t work. We’ve got enough problems in mental health already. I don’t want to tempt some private company to make money on the backs of people with mental illness.”
