Top of the morning

This may not be surprising, but it is troubling nonetheless. A new study of the media’s coverage of the health care debate finds that the horse race and political intrigue are more interesting to the media powers that be than how the issue affects our lives.
Fully 41% of health care coverage focused on the tactics and strategy of the debate while various reform proposals filled another 23%. But only 9% of the coverage focused on a core issue — how our health care system currently functions, what works and what doesn’t
It’s no wonder that people are so easily mislead by the demagogues.
