Stein: NC needs a stable, fair source of revenue, not more industries that prey on poor (video)

Having wrapped-up the short-session Saturday, lawmakers are now busy reevaluating the decisions that were made in the final days.

Senator Josh Stein (D-Wake Co.) says he’s very proud of their efforts to strengthen ethics reform as well as another measure that will expand DNA testing. Stein says his colleagues also made the right choice in banning video sweepstakes cafes.

Critics of the gaming ban argue this will end up shuttering hundreds of local businesses that could have generated up to $600 million annually if lawmakers had simply legalized the video poker machines and decided to regulate them.
