Real Jobs NC, the latest 527 set up by PPD CEO Fred Eshelman and his pals, has expanded its small board to include a familiar name, right-wing funder extraordinaire Art Pope.
Real Jobs NC listed three directors in its initial filing with the IRS in May, Eshelman, and two other prominent Republicans, John Marin of Durham and Murchison Biggs from Lumberton.
The group amended that filing in July to add Pope, who gave $100,000 to the group that is now attacking House Majority Leader Hugh Holliman in misleading mailings recently sent to voters in his district.
The other contributors to Real Jobs NC so far are the Republican State Leadership Committee and Rightchange.com, another group bankrolled by Eshelman.
Real Jobs NC, the ads against Holliman, and Pope’s ridiculous claims that the group is nonpartisan are all addressed in this week’s Monday numbers .
