Ah…”choice” and “neighborhood schools”…

Post on September 9, 2010 by Comments Off

From this morning’s Charlotte O:

School changes likely to be felt countywide

Families at overcrowded suburban schools could find themselves fighting to keep their children on popular campuses, and those at under-filled inner-city schools could find their students facing reassignment to schools outside their neighborhood.

Still others could see their neighborhood school close completely, forcing students to be sent to other schools.

All three possibilities emerged a day after Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials released a list of schools that could see changes, and began talking about how the district will function next year, given the expected $50 million shortfall in federal money.”
