As GOPers in Raleigh and Washington rush to take symbolic votes on “repeal” of the new health care law, more benefits have been added this year that GOPers want to take away from families in North Carolina:
** Health insurers are now required to spend at least 80% of the premium dollars they collect on actual medical care.
**Medicare now covers an annual physical with no co-payment or deductible including a comprehensive health risk assessment and the creation of a personalized prevention plan.
**Medicare no longer requires co-payments for most preventive services, including cancer and diabetes screenings, requiring Medicare to cover 100 percent of the costs.
**To help provide for increased primary care demand, primary care physicians in Medicare will receive a 10% bonus each year.
**Hospitals and community-based groups to provide transitional care services to high-risk Medicare beneficiaries to help make these transitions from the hospital to home or nursing facility smoother and safer.
**And if you have health insurance questions, check out the newest version of the www.healthCare.gov national website. You can answer a few questions about you situation and where you live and it comes up with a list of health insurance options complete with details and contact information for North Carolina.
