Budgeting goes to the dogs

If you found yourself wanting to offer Governor Bev Perdue a few ideas for a more balanced approach to her budget after hearing last night’s State of the State, you’ve got your chance.

The governor’s office released an online game/tool Tuesday, in which the taxpayer and Charlie “the lovable Plott Hound” work together to get North Carolina’s deficit to zero.

Perdue notes on the front page:

“There are no wrong answers, so have fun and give it your best shot.”

Wonder if  she will tell the General Assembly the same thing, when she delivers her own budget plan later this week?

O”ver one hundred counties would be a lot richer if they stopped pandering to animal abusers. It is costing over 100 counties almost 40 million a year to house, and euthanize pet guardian’s animals.”
