It won’t make anybody here feel any better, but North Carolina is not the only state where the General Assembly is making troubling decisions.

The Washington Post reported this weekend that despite the budget problems in Virginia, legislators there are handing out corporate welfare “like lollipops for Suzy,” as one lawmaker put it.  

The totals were  17 new corporate welfare measures approved this year alone at a cost of $30 million to Virginia taxpayers.
