House Speaker Thom Tillis [1] explained his position Tuesday not to dismiss or criticize Franklin County Rep. Glen Bradley [2]‘s bill that would have North Carolina coin it’s own currency.

Tillis acknowledged in the corporate world, an idea like that could get you fired. But the Republican House Speaker said the democratic process will decide the merits of House Bill 301 [3], and that each House member is free to  introduce any 10 bill they like during the session.

“And every once in a while, we may find some diamonds in that rough, ” said Speaker Tillis.
