Top of the morning

The award for most absurd quote of the weekend goes to Rep. Bryan Holloway, who heads the House Education Appropriations Subcommittee.

The House budget slashes the university budget 15.5 percent, which means the loss of 3,200 jobs. But Holloway says that’s not his fault.

As for the UNC system, he said, “some may lose their jobs — that’s possible. But those decisions are going to be left up for them to make for the most part.”

It is more than possible Rep. Holloway. You are guaranteeing it. And you know it.
