The Forgetful Chairman

H115, the Blue Cross-backed bill setting up an industry-friendly health marketplace with new taxes for individuals and small businesses, easily passed the NC House Appropriations Committee today, less than 24 hours after it passed the NC House Insurance Committee.   A telling moment came in the rushed hearing when the bill sponsor, Rep. Jerry Dockham (R) was asked about the objections of groups like AARP North Carolina to the bill.  While Chair Dockham couldn’t seem to remember consumer group concerns, he sure could remember what a certain insurance executive said:
