Hagan: Ryan budget, Medicaid block grants “totally unacceptable” (audio)

U.S. Senator Kay Hagan [1] says she will not support a Republican proposal that would convert Medicaid into a block grant program.

Hagan said Wednesday that while Congress must take steps to cut deficits and avert a default crisis,  it is simply wrong to try to balance the federal budget on the backs of seniors and working families.

Senator Hagan, who appears on N.C. Policy Watch’s News & Views this weekend, said Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget blueprint would in effect “dismantle” high-quality care for low-income, vulnerable Americans.
