Lap dog or true believer?

Mark Binker at Capital Beat continues his good coverage of the marriage amendment nonsense today. He quotes the double-Speaker Thom Tillis as saying he will vote for the darned thing, but also implying that he’s but a mere bystander to the whole proces.

You’ve got to wonder how much longer the guy can get away with playing this game.

Neither lap dog or true believer. Tillis is pure opportunist. Pandering to the bigots is nothing more or less than political posturing. He gets backing from the zealots in exchange for selling out what passes for “principles” in his Machiavellian brain.
