The N&O gets it right

This morning’s editorial in Raleigh’s News & Observer does a good job of capturing the essence of the special session/hate fest taking place in the state Legislative Building this week.

“This is a misguided cause, mean and vindictive and discriminatory, motivated by a cold-blooded extremism. At a time when Republicans should be trying to prove themselves as leaders, they are doing just the opposite.”

And be sure to watch the video posted below by Clayton Henkel of some of the highlights of the many eloquent speeches delivered in opposition to the Tillis/Berger marriage amendment. It might keep you going today and help you get ready for the fight ahead.

If this goes through the Senate, doesn’t the Governor have to sign it? and what is her position? Also, who writes the language for the ballot?

No role for the Guv. Goes right to the ballot as it appears in the bill.

Am I right that the house version would hold the election during the primary? If so, it will ensure passage in the vote.
