North Carolinians won’t get a chance to vote on a constitutional amendment defining marriage for another six months. But on Tuesday volunteers for Equality NC will be at the polls talking with registered voters about the May 8, 2012 ballot initiative.
Organizers in Asheville, Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and Charlotte will be discussing how the vaguely worded amendment could have several unintended consequences and negatively impact job creation for the state. Voters will also be asked to ‘Take the Pledge’ to vote against the amendment next May.
