Court gets it right in Prop 8 decision

The following quote from U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Stephen Reinhardt’s opinion in today’s decision striking down California’s ban on same sex marriage states it plainly and clearly:
“Proposition 8 serves no purpose, and has no effect, other than to lessen the status and human dignity of gays and lesbians in California, and to officially reclassify their relationships and families as inferior to those of opposite-sex couples.”
It’s hard to see how he wouldn’t say the the same thing about North Carolina’s proposed Amendment One.
