Local scholarship to be established for Black male student

Citing disparities in test scores and graduation rates for Black students in the Durham County area [1] and the sometimes prohibitive costs of college attendance for those who overcome these odds, a local group plans to establish a scholarship to help fund the opportunity for a young Black male to go to college.

In reflection of the many Black leaders who have made this country great, it is encouraging to see a community coming together, looking in commemoration of that past for inspiration to support the future of leaders in the making.
