Pretty low it would appear. When I visited the online editorial page of the Fayetteville Observer today, I saw an ad on the page in some big scary type that looked like it might go with some kind of horror movie. It read:
“SHOULD GAY MARRIAGE ACTIVISTS REDEFINE MARRIAGE FOR EVERYONE IN NORTH CAROLINA? TAKE THE POLL”
When you click on the “take the poll” button, you get redirected to a page that invites you to vote on the following question:
“YES: Gay Marriage Activists Should Redefine Marriage for Everyone
NO The Voters of North Carolina Should Define Marriage.”
Naturally, to “vote” you have to provide your name, email and zip code.
Of course, the whole thing is the work of the pro-discrimination forces at the the misnamed Vote for Marriage NC .
The questions that these troubled people refuse to answer are, of course:
1) How leaving the current ban on same sex marriage allows “gay marriage activists” to do anything and, even more importantly,
2) If same sex marriage or civil unions or domestic partnerships were ever legalized, how in the heck would that possibly have any impact at all on tha marriages of people who don’t want to enter into one?
