New report: Quick fixes not the answer for unemployment insurance

[1]Here’s a new idea for the conservatives running the North Carolina General Assembly when dealing with a troubled public program: Rather than tearing it down and selling it off to sharks [2] or prescribing another dose of policy leeches — i.e. the standard right-wing approaches (especially when it come to public education) — how about enacting reforms and funding the program adequately for a change?

The N.C. Budget and Tax Center has a new and important report [3] out today explaining exactly why such an approach is essential in repairing our troubled unemployment insurance system (and why the NC Chamber’s hard-hearted, “quick fix” ideas [4] ain’t the answer).

Read the report here [3].
