Fracking foes encourage Perdue to veto SB 820

With Governor Perdue expected to make a decision about a veto on Senate Bill 820 [1] this week, anti-fracking forces are stepping up their opposition to the bill. [2]

Members of Occupy Raleigh are staging a 6:00pm rally outside the Executive Mansion in Raleigh to encourage the governor to veto the bill that allows fracking in our state.

Today’s Fitzsimon File [3] runs down a number of fast facts about hydraulic fracturing, including Rep. Mitch Gillespie’s [4]admission during last week’s debate that legislative leaders were talking with the American Petroleum Institute about the industry actually funding positions to develop and oversee environmental regulations.
