Graduation rates going up

Some good news came out today about North Carolina’s education system.
Cohort graduation rates, the number of students who graduate in four-years time, topped 80 percent, the highest it’s even been.
The 80 percent mark is the sixth straight year the state’s seen improvement. In 2006, only 68.3 percent of the state’s high school students received a diploma in four years.
Here are some additional breakdowns as well:
The N.C. Department of Public Instruction also released its 2011-12 ABC ratings of individual schools, which looks at whether or not students met a series of benchmarks.
Overall, 80 percent of the state’s 2,482 public schools (including public charter schools) met their expected goals.
You can look up individual schools or school districts on the DPI website here . (http://abcs.ncpublicschools.org/abcs/)
