Fracking panel holds its first meeting

The new commission that will write the rules to govern hydraulic fracking holds its first meeting today in Raleigh.

The Mining and Energy Commission is tasked with developing a modern regul [1]atory program for the management of oil and gas exploration and development activities in North Carolina.

Today’s meeting [2] begins with an orientation for members, focusing on public records, ethics and the state’s opening meetings law.
