Charlotte’s Mayor: Presidential race a ‘nail-biter’, still winnable for Obama (audio)

On the final weekend of the 2012 election season, polls are divided about whether Barack Obama or Mitt Romney will carry North Carolina.
Rasmussen’s latest poll shows Romney with a six points (52-46) edge in North Carolina, while Public Policy Polling has the race tied.
Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx dismisses many of the outside observers, and believes President Obama has a good chance of winning the state’s electoral votes Tuesday night.
Foxx says enthusiasm for the President’s re-election has not waned since the Democratic National Convention was held in his city in September.
Statewide, more than 2 million registered voters have taken advantage of early voting, which the mayor believes could work in the President’s favor. But Republicans have also taken advantage of early voting in record numbers this year, believing that they have gained an upper hand ahead of Election Day.
Charlotte’s mayor appears on News & Views this weekend to discuss the presidential race and politicking in a post-Citizens United world.
