A discouraging initial signal

[1]Okay — it’s early and Governor-elect Pat McCrory hasn’t even taken office yet, but some of the initial signals coming from his camp are a little troublesome.

Chris Fitzsimon has the numbers [2] this morning on the latest of these developments: McCrory’s rather strange decision [3] to hit up fat cats on the first Saturday of his term for contributions to a new and, by all appearances, partisan political group (while at the same time creating competition for the traditional Junior League fundraiser).

Come on Mayor – we know you don’t know Raleigh that well and are all about changing up the way things are done, but this one seems especially tin-eared. Please reconsider and, at least, find a different date on which to launch your new echo chamber group — like maybe February 29th.
