The swearing in of the 113th Congress brings four new faces to the state’s delegation in the U.S. House.

Richard Hudson [1] will represent the 8th District, Robert Pittenger [2]the 9th District, Mark Meadows [3] the 11th District, and finally George Holding [4] will serve in the 13th District.

Retiring from the House are Reps. Larry Kissell, Sue Myrick, Heath Shuler and Brad Miller.

All four newcomers are Republicans, and that will shift North Carolina’s representation in the U.S. House to four Democrats and nine Republicans.

Their first vote will come Friday when lawmakers will decide on $9 billion in federal aid for states that were ravaged by Superstorm Sandy.
