Bill would once again OK lobbyists’ gifts to lawmakers

Brawley [1]In North Carolina, state law [2] (see G.S. 138A-32) presently makes it illegal for lobbyists to give anything of value to state legislators. Lobbyists can’t buy legislators a pricey dinner, a round of golf, or yes, even a cup of coffee.

Well, that may be about to change.

WRAL.com [3] reports that Republican Rep. Robert Brawley [4] filed legislation [5]Tuesday that would once again allow legislators and legislative employees to accept gifts from lobbyists.
