North Carolina is dead last in teacher salary growth

This week lawmakers are hammering out the final details of the 2013-15 budget, in which there are no proposed provisions from the House or Senate to raise teacher salaries. Public school teachers have seen a 1% raise only once in the past five years.
Widely reported is the statistic that North Carolina ranks 46th in the nation in teacher pay. But did you know that we rank dead last in teacher salary growth over the past decade? Chew on this stunning infographic that a Raleigh middle school teacher posted on her blog  this week:
