NC, Southern States: Shorter and sicker lives after age 65

A new report [1]on life expectancy from the federal Centers for Disease Control is troubling for those who care about life and health in NC.  At age 65, people who live in southern states – including NC – can expect to live a shorter time and be sicker during the rest of their lives than people in the rest of the country.  One more reason NC should accept the federal money to expand Medicaid health coverage to 500,000 of our lowest-income workers.
