The federal Department of Health and Human has awarded groups in North Carolina today over $3 million to be used to help enroll people in affordable health insurance plans newly available under the Affordable Care Act. Starting October 1, 2013, North Carolinians can go to www.healthcare.gov to find out if they qualify for high-quality health plans at an affordable cost.
Outreach efforts receiving funding include a consortium of over 100 organizations led by NC’s Community Care networks. This group is receiving $1.9 million in funding alone. In addition Randolph Hospital, Mountain Projects Inc, and the Alcohol/Drug Council of NC will all receive funding as well. See the complete list here .
