Groups get over $3 million to help enroll North Carolinians in Affordable Care Act

The federal Department of Health and Human has awarded groups in North Carolina today over $3 million to be used to help enroll people in affordable health insurance plans newly available under the Affordable Care Act.  Starting October 1, 2013, North Carolinians can go to www.healthcare.gov [1] to find out if they qualify for high-quality health plans at an affordable cost.

Outreach efforts receiving funding include a consortium of over 100 organizations led by NC’s Community Care networks.  This group is receiving $1.9 million in funding alone.  In addition Randolph Hospital, Mountain Projects Inc, and the Alcohol/Drug Council of NC will all receive funding as well.  See the complete list here [2].
