Ellmers2nd District Congresswoman Renee Ellmers [1] has had a change of heart and will opt to have her Congressional pay withheld as long as the government shutdown continues.

Rep. Ellmers came under heavy criticism earlier this week after telling WTVD:

“The thing is I need my paycheck. That’s the bottom line and I understand that maybe there are members who are deferring their paychecks and that’s admirable,” said Ellmers. “I’m not in that position.”

Constituents unable to reach the congresswoman’s office took to social media to get their point across.
